Suspense
Suspense

Genre: Radio Series
Release Dates: 17 June 1942 - 25 June 1961

Background: Radio's "outstanding theater of thrills, the long-running anthology, focusing mainly on crime tales and occasionally venturing into adventure, science fiction, or the supernatural, spanned two decades. The single best known Suspense play is "Sorry, Wrong Number" starring Agnes Moorehead as the terrified invalid, a role she reprised six times. Leading roles were played by a mixture of noted film stars, other celebrities (including comedians, singers, and radio personalities), and working radio actors.

The series began in New York but moved to Hollywood by 1943, returning to New York from 1959 through 1962. As with other radio anthologies, many scripts were performed more than once over the years, often with different casts.
